Who we are

Welcome to Break the Cycle Advocacy. My name is Michaela McHenry, and this organization is rooted in my personal journey. Growing up, I lived through the trauma of domestic violence, and I know what it feels like to be a child lost in that chaos. But I also know what it means to find strength in the face of adversity and to have people who believe in your future.

Now, as a student at The Ohio State University pursuing a career as a child advocacy lawyer, I’m determined to use my experiences to protect and uplift others. I founded this organization because I believe every child deserves a voice and a safe space to grow, free from fear. Our mission is to support children and families affected by domestic violence, to provide them with the resources they need to heal and to advocate for their rights—something I’m passionate about both in my studies and in my work.

This organization is not just a cause; it’s my life’s purpose. Together, we can break the cycle of violence and build a future where every child feels safe, heard, and protected. Whether you’ve lived through this yourself or want to make a difference, you’re welcome here. Together, we can create lasting change.
